The Home Makers Bazaar is back – Sunday 03 March 2024
The Home Makers Bazaar (THUMB) is back for a 4th craft fair in the local area. We have the benefit of the two generous halls at the Belmont Circle Community Hall, Harrow north London. The Hall is just off the Belmont Circle and opposite a busy Tesco and an ASDA petrol station on the corner. Other local businesses include the Cardomom Restaurant, other eateries, a pharmacy, barbers and pizza shops. There is a primary school nearby and the building is on the Kenton Road where it takes advantage of walking and driving traffic.
The usual aim is to allow local small businesses and makers to showcase themselves with a view to introducing their products to new prospective buyers. Some of our sellers who choose to sell at the bazaar are usually first-time quality makers who want to test their makes or, they may already have an online platform and are now looking to get traffic or publicity to their sites.
Most of us makers started off by donating our items as gifts in the hope that this may lead to a larger following and hopefully sales. The aim of the bazaar is to get makers pitching to a real market, getting feedback and more likely those buying or browsing on the day, later become a regular customer. This in turn could lead to growth for an online business.
Our makers offer a variety of handmade items generally. At the last 3 events we featured 27 sellers each. The makes varied from woven textured items, specialist eyewear, soap and candle makers, print designers, self-published authors, card-makers, home sewing, African clothing designers and scenic oil-painters.
The Home Makers Bazaar is an indoor affair. As a trader, you will not need a gazebo, or to worry about fluctuating weather changes. The market is at the Belmont Community Hall and gives immediate step-free access for wheelchair or pushchair users. Those driving to the event are able to park in Harrow free on Sundays. The Hall also has a small parking area at the back. There is a refreshments counter selling hot and cold refreshments as well as the regular teas and coffees and there are toilets and washroom facilities on site.
As a further attraction, the event is totally free to the public to help attract multiple visits and visitors. Dogs on a lead are also welcome.
Sellers also benefit from a large table and two chairs set up for them before they arrive. Sellers are asked to bring their own table covering and signage. Sellers do need to agree to all terms and conditions.
Feel free to visit us on the day or email for more info. We are accessible by bus: 186 from either Brent Cross Shopping Centre or Northwick Park Hospital. The H19 also runs from Harrow Bus Station or from Harrow Kymberley Road. Both of these stop just on Belmont Circle and the Hall, a large green building, is clearly visible from there. The venue is also accessible by the Northern Line: Edgware (then get bus 186) or Kenton Station.
We look forward to meeting you!
